Travel with Kids

If you plan to travel abroad with kids, try packing a couple cookies sheets. You can use this to play cards with your children. If your children are very little, you can pack magnetic numbers and letters for some educational entertainment. Pre-book you’re parking if you will be leaving your car at the airport. It is typically more expensive to just ride into the lot and park. If your house isn’t far from your airport, think about taking a taxi instead.

If you have a child with you on your road trip, be sure to get out of the car every couple of hours. Breaks will let you stretch and use the restroom. Getting a small child out of the car occasionally can also help to prevent motion sickness. Though you may be travelling longer, your stress will be reduced. Pack a couple of travel candles for your hotel stay. This will make the smell in your room much better. Also, it creates a romantic and relaxing atmosphere and could get you to fall asleep. There are small candles that do not drip wax.

When travelling, take along a pillow and a small blanket. It doesn’t matter whether you’re going by train, plane or car, a pillow and blanket will help your trip to be comfortable. Airlines may provide them, but chances are they will run out of their supply. Carrying your own means you know yours are sanitary and cleaned. Make sure to tip generously. As you board the cruise, tip $20 to your steward. These crew members will most likely be helping you for your entire cruise. Treating them well may ensure that you receive quality service.

When on a road trip, it is an ideal time to listen to your favourite pre-recorded music on while enjoying the ride. Many times when travelling you will get only static on your radio, especially in small towns or rural locations. This will provide you with a way to pass the time for a while when you go on your trip. If you are on a particularly long flight, make it a habit to get up from your seat and stretch about once every hour. Stiff muscles and blood clots can occur if you are stationary for too long. When you are ready to travel, you need to be sure to have copies made of each of your vital papers. Photocopies of your passport, insurance, and other travel documents should be stored separately from those that you are carrying with you. Leave copies with someone you can trust in case you lose the ones you are taking with you.
